Based on local virus risk levels, Turkey's provincial health institutions will determine whether in-person education for certain grades continues, the National Education Ministry announced late on March 29.
The criteria announced on March 1 will be effective in determining the course of in-person education, said a ministry statement.
Turkey details upcoming in-class school lessons
Turkey will partially resume face-to-face school lessons for the 12th grade on March 1, the National Education Ministry announced on Feb. 12.
The second semester of the 2020-2021 school year will start Monday with distance education, said the ministry in a statement, adding that as of March 1, in-class lessons would start for students in the 12th grade with reduced student numbers.

Parents spend €1.2 bln a year on private lessons
Many Greek parents don't believe their children will receive the required knowledge and skills at state-run schools and instead resort to private lessons, according to a report published on Wednesday by the General Confederation of Greek Workers' Center for the Development of Educational Policy (KANEP-GSEE).

Education Ministry bill submitted to Parliament
