Ljubljana – Commending on the State of the Union address by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, Delo says in Thursday’s front-page commentary that visions and proposals are not enough in the realism of European politics, as it depends mainly on the will of member states how the bloc will function.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker issued a strong message on Wednesday in response to a question by Kathimerini about pension cuts slated for January, noting that "the measures agreed have to be implemented."

It's back to Strasbourg this week for MEPs as they return to France for their first plenary sitting since the summer recess, reported BBC. 

Jean-Claude Juncker will take centre-stage with his third "state of the union" speech as European Commission President on Wednesday.

European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker is speaking in Strasbourg on Wednesday morning. This is his first State of the Union speech at the European Parliament that is set to report on his achievement and set out his vision. Much of the address is expected to focus on the refugee crisis.
