HALC, AJC ask Pompeo to decry ‘unacceptable’ Turkish challenge to Greek-Cypriot sovereignty

The American Jewish Committee and the Hellenic American Leadership Council called on US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to clarify that challenges to Greek and Cypriot sovereignty by Turkey "are unacceptable to the United States."

Former ambassador Burns endorses Natalia Linos for Congress

Former US Undersecretary of State Nicholas Burns, who also served as American ambassador to Athens, has announced his endorsement of Greek-American scientist Natalia Linos in her bid to represent Massachusetts' 4th Congressional District, her campaign said.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Linos is currently executive director of Harvard University's FXB Center for Health and Human Rights.

Top EU official says Turkey actions in East Med 'unacceptable'

A top-ranking European Commission official on Friday condemned as "unacceptable" the actions of Turkey in the Eastern Mediterranean, noting that the issue would be broached by the European Union's High Representative Josep Borrell to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo who is to join a teleconference of the EU foreign affairs council on Monday.  

US governor denies parole for Turkish diplomat’s killer

California Governor Gavin Newsom has denied a parole request by Hampig Sassounian, an Armenian who assassinated a Turkish diplomat in Los Angeles in 1982.  

The announcement came on May 25 with Newsom reversing the Board of Parole Hearings' decision which found Sassounian suitable for parole.

Disney World in Florida reopens a bit- but no rides yet
