Co-chair of Save Romania Union - Unity, Freedom and Solidarity (USR PLUS) Dacian Ciolos said on Tuesday that an assessment for the entire government, including the prime minister, starting from the objectives assumed by the government programme will have to be conducted within the coalition, after the internal elections within the National Liberal Party (PNL) and the party he represents.

Romania is actively contributing to the exercise of drawing up the second Report on the Rule of Law in the European Union, which will be published by the European Commission later this year, Justice Minister Stelian Ion said on Thursday.

Justice Minister Stelian Ion announced having sent on Friday morning to the government the bill on the abolition of the Section for the Investigation of Judicial Crimes (SIIJ), emphasizing that the negative opinion given by the Supreme Council of Magistrates (CSM) is just advisory. "This morning I signed and sent to the Government of Romania the bill proposal for the abolition of SIIJ.

The Minister of Justice, Stelian Ion, on Tuesday met with the French Ambassador to Romania, Laurence Auer, on which occasion they discussed the process of modifying the laws of justice, but also the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code.
