Nisyros: The Sleeping Giant of the Dodecanese (PHOTOS)
Visualize the scene: above the Aegean Sea, the war between the Giants and the Olympian Gods is raging. Poseidon, the god of the sea, is giving chase to a giant by the name of Polyvotis. When he finally catches up with him, near Kos in the south-east, he uses his trident to tear off a chunk of the island, which he then catapults on top of Polyvotis.

Volcanic eruption rips through Chile night sky
Southern Chile was rocked by a volcanic explosion, leading authorities to sound to alarm, and the mayor of the township near the volcano calling for an immediate evacuation.
The awakened volcano is Villarica, one of South America’s most active volcanoes, near the city which bears the same name. The volcanic explosion ripped through the air with hot lava and ash.

Thirty Feared Dead after Japan Volcano Eruption
An unexpected volcanic eruption at Mount Ontake could have left 30 people dead, reports suggest after lifeless bodies were founds near the peak.
A police spokesman at the Nagano prefecture has confirmed the individuals found by rescue teams are "in cardiac arrest", but an official medial examination is now required by authorities.
