A driver who killed a stray dog in a hit-and-run in the Mediterranean province of Antalya on July 17 was released after his detention by the Antalya police.
A fiery debate among Turkish social media users had been stirred after terrifying footage was revealed showing a vehicle that vanished away after killing the stray dog without looking back.

The Greek land army honoured a Belgian Sheppard dog (Mallinois) for its outstanding contribution to the army as an ancestral military dog. The award took place at the 3rd Veterinary Hospital within the framework of the Graduation ceremony of the Military Dog Training School. The dog is 8 years old and entered service as a breeding dog. The Mallinios bore 43 top military dogs.

Woman mauled by two escaped dogs in Kalamata
A 49-year-old woman was hospitalized on Wednesday after she was mauled by two dogs in the town of Kalamata in the Peloponnese.
According to local reports, the woman was attacked by the two cane corso dogs, which had managed to get through the gate of their owners' yard, while she was walking along a street near the town center.

A program for breeding and protecting the Greek Sheepdog by the Arcturos wildlife and nature conservation society has been a resounding success, and, according to its press secretary, Panos Stefanou, "there are farmers who will wait for more than two years to get a puppy."
