Sofia Allocates Half a Million Leva for Graffiti Cleanup in Key Locations

The municipal company "Sofekostroy" is set to receive up to half a million leva to remove graffiti across Sofia, following a decision by the Metropolitan Municipal Council, reports "Dnevnik". The funds will be drawn from levies paid for each ton of waste deposited in landfills.

Police hunt gunman who wounded 10 in Brooklyn subway attack

Police hunted late into the night for the gunman who opened fire Tuesday on a subway train in Brooklyn, an attack that left 10 people wounded by gunfire and once again interrupted New York City's long journey to post-pandemic normalcy.

The search focused partly on a man who police say rented a van possibly connected to the violence.

Multiple shot, unexploded devices found at NYC train station

At least 13 people have been injured in a shooting incident at a subway station in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, where "several undetonated devices" were recovered, authorities said on April 12. 

A New York police spokeswoman told AFP officers responded to 911 call of a person shot in the Brooklyn subway at 8:27 am (1227 GMT).

Unionist Radoi: Subway protests are about salary cuts, layoffs, nothing to do with commercial spaces

Brothers jailed for attacking subway stationmaster in Greece

Two brothers, aged 17 and 15, who attacked an Athens subway stationmaster because he told them to wear masks on a subway train, will appear before a magistrate Tuesday for depositions.

The two were jailed Saturday, charged with premeditated aggravated assault, a felony, as well as disobedience, for refusing to provide police with fingerprints.
