Nicosia: First build linkup, then charge
Cypriot electricity consumers should not be burdened with a surcharge before the operation of the electricity interconnector linking Greece and Cyprus and the consequent reduction of electricity costs, Cypriot Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry George Papanastasiou said on Monday.

Toll charges to rise by up to 7.6%
Toll charges across Greece are going to rise by 6-7.7% from the new year.
After a long period of negotiations between the concessionaires and the Ministry of Infrastructure it was agreed that the 2023 surcharge (12%), which was never collected, would be divided into three installments by 2026 and the concessionaires would absorb a part of it.

For the second time in a few months, the energy suppliers, PPC and private providers, are opposed to the context of the interventions of the Energy Regulatory Authority, which, according to RAE, aim at the transparency of the bills that consumers pay for electricity.

EU Signs Deal Clearing Way for End of Roaming Charges
The European Union on Wednesday reached a deal that will gradually phase out mobile roaming charges throughout the bloc, the European Parliament has announced.
Under the preliminary agreement,a cap will be put on wholesale mobile data prices at EUR 7.75 per gigabyte as of June 15 and it has to decrease gradually in the next few years.
Bulgaria Moves to Cap EU Roaming Charges Starting from April 30
At its regular meeting on Wednesday, the Bulgarian government approved amendments to the Electronic Communications Act, which would cap EU roaming charges starting from April 30.

EU Reaches Preliminary Deal to Scrap Mobile Roaming Fees by mid-2017
Following 12 hours of talks, the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union reached a provisional deal with the European Parliament on net neutrality rules envisaging the abolition of mobile phone roaming fees as of June 2017.
Under the agreement reached in the early hours of June 30, 2015, roaming surcharges in the European Union will be abolished as of June 15, 2017.

A slight surcharge on ATM or bank withdrawals may be imposed, according to FinMin Yanis Varoufakis on Tuesday.
