Some 385,000 Turkish people changed names, surnames in 4 years, says data
Some 385,000 people have changed their names or surnames in Turkey since 2017, the year in which a regulation that allows registry offices to make changes without a court decision became valid, according to a data.
More than 260,000 people changed surnames, and some 124,000 changed their names in a period of four years, according to a data.
Iranian woman sought in abduction of dissident
Turkey's Justice Ministry has requested a red notice from the Interpol for a woman who is believed to have taken part in the abduction of Habib Chaab, an Iranian dissident.
Chaab was kidnapped in Istanbul in October and smuggled to Iran.

Serbia, Turkey eye stronger defense industry ties
Serbia and Turkey are looking to improve defense industry ties, defense and diplomatic officials from both countries said on Nov. 25.
A meeting in the capital Belgrade between Serbian Defense Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic and Turkish Ambassador Tanju Bilgiç stressed the need for more cooperation in the field of equipment and modernization, said a Serbian Defense Ministry statement.

Angelopoulos offers apology over Kapodistrias controversy
In response to the social media firestorm in May that was caused by a post by the Greece 2021 committee that presented the first head of state of independent Greece Ioannis Kapodistrias as a dictator, its president, Gianna Angelopoulos, offered an apology on Wednesday for any offense caused.
The post in question had cited an excerpt from an article by a member of the committee.
Naval exercise postponed until further notice
The Greek naval training exercise "Kataigida '20" that was originally scheduled to begin on Monday was postponed until further notice over the weekend due to concerns stemming from the coronavirus pandemic and, reportedly, as part of a bid to find a balance in Greek-Turkish relations.
