The eighth graders are officially finished on June 5, while the end of the school year for students from the first to the seventh grade of elementary school is June 16.

As secondary school pupils prepare to return to class on Monday, a week after senior high students, authorities are planning to bring forward the launch of the next academic year, to September 1, in a bid to help schools make up for lessons lost during the pandemic. 

Minister Sarcevic told TV Prva that the recordings of lectures in schools were successful, but that for safety reasons, at one point they switched to recording classes from home, which also went great.
"On this occasion, the teachers learned how to question the students in some other way", the minister said.

Senior high school pupils are scheduled to return to class on Monday in the next key phase of the government's plan to lift restrictions imposed in March to curb the spread of the new coronavirus.

He pointed out to TV Pink that in a short time they were able to record a quality school program, which is a simulation of regular teaching in schools.
"The primary school is covered. The program starts tomorrow and will run every weekday from 8 am to 6 pm. Half-hour lessons are prepared", the minister said.

The new school year begins. Over 700,000 students will enter the class today, including nearly 60,000 first-graders.

A number of 2,824,594 pupils and kindergarteners start on Monday classes for school year 2019-2020. According to a release of the Ministry of National Education (MEN), this school year classes will be taught by a total number of 215,289 teachers and educators.

Today, around 60,000 fourth-graders from across the country are expected to sit the National External Mathematics Evaluation, which will start at 10:00 am.

Sofia. Over 60,000 first-graders will go to school for the first time. Their number is lower by a few thousand compared to last year. The new school year will be opened today in 2,367 schools across the country, in which a total of 680,000 pupils will be taught. There are 89,000 teachers in all schools, kindergartens and personal development support centres.

There аre important changes for all students. The school year will now be one week longer. This concerns children between 1 to 11 grade, reported NOVATV.

The idea of the Bulgarian Ministry of Education is to make holidays a little longer, and that will replace the last school day.
