Austria's far-right Freedom Party, a party rooted in Nazi ideology, just celebrated an unprecedented election victory on Sunday night, with its leader talking about a new era for the far right. This is seen as another worrying sign for Europe, as a surge by populist far-right forces shows no sign of slowing down.

Ukrainian forces prepared on June 24 to retreat from the strategic city of Severodonetsk after weeks of fierce fighting, a setback that could pave the way for Russia to seize a larger swath of eastern Ukraine.

Ukraine's Consul in Podgorica, Mykhailo Shmatov, told BIRN that similar marches were being organised by the Ukrainian diaspora worldwide, stressing that the rally in Podgorica has no provocative intentions.

With a half-hour blockade on the main road to Smolyan, residents of Asenovgrad resumed their protests last night, Nova TV reported.

More than 100 people got involved in public outrage. This time the procession started from the park on Svoboda Street and crossed several central boulevards, blocking the movement for a short time.
