Synthetic cannabinoids

An increasing number of drug users in Greece are turning to cannabis and cocaine, according to the report of the Greek Therapy Center for Dependent Individuals (KETHEA) for 2022, a year in which the number of users rose again due to the decline of the pandemic.

Over two dozen people were detained and large amounts of drugs were seized in nationwide drug raids by Turkish police on Nov. 24, according to official statements.

A total of 13 kilograms of synthetic drugs were seized in the eastern province of Van, said local police.

A new substance is included in the drug list. This is clear from a Council of Ministers decision amending the Ordinance on the procedure for classifying plants and substances as narcotic.

A substance contained in liquids for e-cigarettes and hookahs will be included in the the drug list. This envisages a change in the Ordinance on the Procedure for Classification of Plants and Substances as Narcotic, proposed by the Ministry of Health.

Bulgarian studnets and young people remain at the top in Europe using amphetamines and anabolic steroids, according to data from recent drug surveys in EU countries.

The data is from a study among teenagers aged 15-16 years and adults up to 30 years old, BNR reports.

An Albanian man who was previously caught in Turkey, accused of smuggling over one ton of synthetic cannabis, was handed to the judiciary along with 10 other suspects on the morning of April 2, state-run Anadolu Agency reported. 

A drug 800 times more potent that marijuana has been found in Serbia, the Interior Ministry has announced.

They identified the narcotic as synthetic cannabinoid 5F-MDMB-PINACA, the use of which can cause serious damage to human health.
