The United States, Britain, and France have issued advisories urging their citizens to avoid travel to Iran, Lebanon, Israel, and the Palestinian territories in the coming days. This caution follows Iran's threat of retaliation after an Israeli airstrike targeted the Iranian consulate in Syria a week and a half ago.

"The Syrian Armed Forces will be supplied with the advanced S-300 air defense missile system within two weeks," Shoigu said, according to Sputnik, which reported that this would be "an adequate response to Israel's role in the downing of the Russian Il-20 plane last week."
