Turkey has called for a U.N. Security Council meeting to discuss attacks on Turkmens in neighboring Syria, according to Prime Ministry sources, with Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu saying his government will "not hesitate" to take the required measures on Syrian soil to protect the Turkmen people.

Turkey has called for a U.N. Security Council meeting to discuss attacks on Turkmens in neighbouring Syria, sources in the prime minister's office said, days after Ankara summoned the Russian ambassador in protest over "intensive" bombing of villages. 

As the Russian bombardment to defend Bashar-al Assad's forces heats up in the Turkmen-dominated Bay?rbucak region in northwest Syria, waves of locals have flooded to safe zones close to the Turkish border. 

Turkmens, who have fled from Syria to Turkey due to the Syria?s ongoing war, have established a political party in Turkey?s southern province of Osmaniye. 

The Syria Turkmen Development Party was established in Osmaniye by a group of Syrian Turkmens, party leader Ömer ?sa and party spokesman Hasan Musullu said during a press meeting at their party?s headquarters. 

The only solution to the ongoing bloodshed is to create a ?democratic Syria,? Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davuto?lu has said, vowing that Ankara will continue to stand with the Syrian National Council (SNC) as the most legitimate body representing the people of Syria.

Syria's main domestic and exiled opposition groups has said they had agreed a joint draft roadmap for the first time, calling for a transitional governing body and an end to the brutal conflict.

Syrians will stay in Turkey for an extended period of time, with some potentially spending their entire life in Turkey, a new report titled "The Effects of the Syrian Refugees on Turkey" has stated, adding that the government should therefore formulate a comprehensive immigration policy for the future.
