Afghanistan's Taliban rulers celebrated three years in power on Wednesday with a military parade paying homage to their homemade bombs used in war, fighter aircraft and goose-stepping security forces.

A Taliban military commander was killed when his men responded to an ISIL suicide bomb and gun attack on a hospital in the Afghan capital, officials said on Nov. 3.

The Taliban spent 20 years waging an insurgency against the ousted U.S.-backed government before seizing control of Kabul in August.

According to him, the United States "abandoned people who were NATO's most loyal allies."
"These are people who fought side by side, believing what the whites who came to Afghanistan told them, fought with them," Poddubnyy explained.

The Taliban on Sept. 1 paraded some of the military hardware they captured during their takeover of Afghanistan, as a team from Qatar landed at the trashed airport in Kabul - a first step towards getting the facility back up and running as a lifeline for aid.

U.S. forces are in the final phase of leaving Kabul, ending two decades of involvement in Afghanistan, and just over 1,000 civilians at the airport remain to be flown out before troops withdraw, a Western security official said on Aug. 29.

US forces helping to evacuate Afghans desperate to flee Taliban rule braced for more attacks on Friday after an Islamic State suicide bomber killed 85 people, including 13 US soldiers outside the gates of Kabul airport, news wires report.

Images from Kabul have been shaking the world for days, and media reports are full of stories about (un)successful evacuations, both of foreigners and Afghans, who are trying in every way to leave that country.

US President Joe Biden has said US troops may stay in Afghanistan beyond his withdrawal deadline, as armed Taliban fighters kept desperate evacuees from reaching Kabul's airport.

Mr Biden wants US forces out by the end of this month, but up to 15,000 US citizens are stranded in the country.

The US president told in tv interview the turmoil in Kabul was unavoidable.

Turkey is continuing its dialogue with all the sides in Afghanistan, including the Taliban, the Turkish foreign minister has said, vowing that Ankara's efforts for peace, stability and prosperity of the war-torn country will endure.

Turkey will make every effort to ensure the stability of Afghanistan and the region, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has said, vowing to intensify cooperation with Pakistan to stop a potential refugee influx from the country.
