The bloody attack took place last night in the northern province of Sari Pull, where the forces under Kabul and local residents fought against the supporters of radical Muslim groups.

US President Donald Trump, disappointed with the current situation in Afghanistan, has proposed to dismiss the US Army Commander in the region, Gen. John Nicholson, Reuters reported, citing US officials.

The Taliban killed 30 soldiers in a military base in the southern province of Kandahar. This was announced by a spokesman for the Afghan army, quoted by Reuters.

At least 24 people have been killed and 42 wounded after a Taliban car bomb struck a bus carrying government employees in western Kabul yesterday, officials said, the latest attack to strike the Afghan capital.

"The car bomb hit a bus carrying employees of the ministry of mines during rush hour," interior ministry spokesman Najib Danish told AFP.

At least 24 people were killed in a car bomb attack in the Afghan capital Kabul. At least 42 people have been injured, the World Agencies have reported. The attack took place about 6.45am local time by a suicide bomber who blew up a car bomb.
