The wax figure of famous legendary Turkish actor Tarık Akan, who died of cancer on Sept. 16, 2016, is now on display at Madame Tussauds Istanbul. Officials said they had his measures in 2000-2001.

Open-air film festival throughout summer in Istanbul
UNIQ Istanbul and Başka Sinema (Another Cinema) are jointly organizing a new festival this summer, the UNIQ Open-air Film Festival.
Reha Erdem big winner at Adana Film Festival
The 23rd Adana International Film Festival ended on Sept. 25 with the Best Film Award, presented to Reha Erdem's "Koca Dünya" (Big, Big World).
A total of 18 awards were presented during the festival. Kıvanç Sezer's "Babamın Kanatları" (My Father's Wings) took home seven awards.

Tarık Akan: So long and thanks for all the films
Your first films stay with you forever. The first comedic moments, the first scenes of dramatic buildup, and the first kiss on screen stay untouched in our memories, free from cynicism and free from a taste shaped up later with life. For a majority of Turkish people, somewhere in those memories buried deep down is Tarık Akan, the legendary actor who passed away on Sept. 16.

Legendary Turkish actor Tarık Akan dies at 66
One of the most notable names of the "Yeşilçam" era of modern Turkish cinema, actor Tarık Akan died on Sept. 16 in a private hospital where he was receiving cancer treatment. He was 66.
Akan's death was announced by the Nazım Hikmet Culture and Arts Foundation in a statement.
