Turkish Cypriot President Ersin Tatar, who was in London, the United Kingdom, for a series of meetings, has been protested by a group of Greek students.

He said he did not know Tatar would be present at the event

Political trials and illegal arrests of Tatars are of great concern to Turkey, a senior diplomat said on March 12. 

The Turkish Foreign Ministry reaffirmed Turkey's support to the territorial integrity of Ukraine on the occasion of the anniversaries of the Crimean Tatar and Circassian exiles.

Turkey has extradited two Russian spies in exchange for two Crimean Tatar politicians jailed in Russia, daily Habertürk reported on Nov. 29.

The Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed "regret" over the Russian High Court's approval of a ban on the activities of the Crimean Tatar Parliament on Oct. 3. 
"The ministry regrets the High Court of Russia's approval after appeal of the ban," Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tanju Bilgiç said on Oct. 3 in a written statement.

Turkey, the United States and the European Union have condemned an April 26 Crimean court decision to ban the Mejlis, the governing body of the Crimean Tatar community. 

Ukraine has stepped up to establish a troop of Muslims, leader of Crimean Tatars, Mustafa Abdülcemil K?r?mo?lu, said on Aug. 3.

The troops will be deployed in the Kherson region on the Crimean border and would monitor transportation of goods and people between Ukraine and the peninsula, he said speaking at a congress. 

During a recent meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an delivered a report about human rights violations against Crimean Tatars, drafted by an unofficial Turkish delegation who visited the region. 

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an phoned Crimean Tatar leader Mustafa Dzhemilev on May 19 over the 71st anniversary of the mass deportation of Crimean Tatars in 1944. 

?Turkey is in solidarity with their Crimean Tatar brothers in these days of mourning,? the Turkish Presidency quoted Erdo?an as saying.
