An American man has been injured after he fell 12 meters down an escalator on Aug. 5 in the international terminal of Istanbul?s Atatürk Airport. 

The Engineering News Record (ENR), a prominent publication in the construction industry, has named the projects of two Turkish companies, Summa and TAV, the best projects in their fields, the Contractors? Association of Turkey (TMB) has said. 

TAV Airports has been voted the Best Turkish Company in Investor Relations (IR) in the 42nd Extel Survey. At the same time, TAV Airports President & CEO Sani ?ener was voted the best CEO, Vice President Burcu Geri? the Best CFO and head of IR Nursel ?lgen the Best IRO in Turkey, the company said in a written statement on June 9. 

TAV Airports Holding, a global player in airport operations, has revealed a net profit of 31 million euros in the first quarter of 2015, an increase of 51 percent compared to the previous year, as well as revenue of 227 million euros, an increase of 20 percent, the company said in a written statement late on May 11. 

TAV Airports Holding's joint venture, ATU Duty Free, has acquired the right to operate duty free shops at the Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport for the next decade.

The tender enables ATU Duty Free to operate in 700 square meters of duty free area in the airport, which was visited by more than 41 million passengers last year, the company said in a statement March 27.

Turkey's TAV Operation Services has won the tender to operate the advertisement areas of Carthage Airport in the capital of Tunisia for four years, the company said by a written statement on March 2.

The number of airports whose advertisement areas are operated by TAV Operation Services has now increased to three, the company added.

TAV, Turkey's leading brand in airport operations, posted a net profit of 218 million euros in 2014 with an increase of 64 percent compared to the previous year, the company said by a written statement late Feb. 19.

TAV Information Technologies has won the communication technologies tender held for the Abu Dhabi Airport Midfield Terminal Building, which will be the world's largest terminal constructed under one roof when completed. TAV IT will undertake the IT infrastructure set-up and maintenance support services of the terminal, the company said by a written statement.

TAV Airports has paid $139.87 million plus taxes for the operation concession of Istanbul Atatürk Airport and 28.97 million euros plus taxes for the operation concession of ?zmir Adnan Menderes Airport to the State Airports Authority (DHM?), according to the company.

Istanbul’s under-construction third airport should have been planned to be smaller, with room to be enlarged gradually, according to Hamdi Akın, the chairman of TAV Airports and Akfen Holding.
