Romanians Brace For Price Increases
Romanians are about to be hit by a series of price hikes, as new excise taxes on gasoline and cigarettes become effective this week on April 1.
The new fuel tax is set at seven cents a litre, meaning a price increase of 0.41 lei (0.09 euro) per litre of fuel, according to estimates.

Social security contribution rates among world’s highest

Employers and employees social security contributions may be going down by 3.9 percentage points as of July 2014, but Greece remains among the countries with the highest rates, according to figures from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).

After a long wait, the new tax bill is expected to be presented in Parliament this week before being put to a vote. It includes numerous clauses aimed at dealing with a variety of outstanding issues.

Budget deficit at RSD 7 billion in January
BELGRADE - The deficit in the Serbian budget in January this year was RSD 7 billion, the Ministry of Finance has stated.
Budget revenue was RSD 72.2 billion and expenditure RSD 79.2 billion.
This information does not include the revenue and expenditure of indirect budget users, the ministry said.
Tax revenue was RSD 65.3 billion and non-tax revenue was RSD 6.3 billion.
