Gartner Report: The Biggest Global Smartphone Sales Decline in 2019
Till the end of 2019 we can expect the biggest smartphone sales decline -2,5%. Global sales of smartphones to end users declined 2.7% in the first quarter of 2019, totaling 373 million units, according to Gartner, Inc.
Trial run of EU emergency number's SMS system 'successful'
A test run of the SMS system linked to the 112 European Union emergency number was conducted successfully on Wednesday by the General Secretariat for Civil Protection, Digital Policy Minister Kyriakos Pierrakakis said.
The trial run was focused on Syros with residents and visitors to the island receiving a text message as part of the test.
Emergency SMS system to be piloted on Syros
The General Secretariat for Civil Protection said Tuesday that ahead of the full activation by the end of the year of the 112 European Union emergency number in Greece, in the event of a natural disaster, mobile phones in the affected areas will receive text messages with helpful information.
