Jelena Jankovic reaches Indian Wells 4th round

INDIAN WELLS - Serbia's Jelena Jankovic reached the fourth round of the Masters 1000 Series tennis tournament in Indian Wells early Monday by beating Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia 6-3, 6-2.

In her next match, Jankovic will face Caroline Wozniacki of Denmark, who beat Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan 7-6 (9-7), 3-6, 6-1.

Novak Djokovic through to round of sixteen

INDIAN WELLS - Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic qualified for the round of sixteen of the Masters 1000 Seriesin Indian Wells.

World's second best tennis player beat Romania's Victor Hanescu, 7-6 (7-1), 6-2.

In the fight for the quarterfinal, Djokovic will cross rackets with Columbia's Alejandro Gonzalez who defeated Ivan Dodig of Croatia, 6-4, 2-6, 7-6 (7-5).

Djokovic beats Murray in New York

NEW YORK - Serbia's best tennis player Novak Djokovic beat Britain's Andy Murray in the exhibition match in New York late on Monday, 6-3, 7-6 (7-2).

The match was played in the Madison Square Garden Hall within the celebration of World Tennis Day.

Other exhibition matches were held in London and Hong Kong.

Zimonjic, Nestor suffer defeat in Dubai final

DUBAI - Serbian tennis player Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor of Canada did not succeed in claiming the title in the doubles final at the ATP tournament in Dubai on Saturday.

They lost to Rohan Bopanna (India) and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi (Pakistan) 6-4, 6-3.

The prize fund amounted to USD 2.3 million.

Djokovic in Dubai semis, Youzhny withdraws

DUBAI - Serbia's Novak Djokovic advanced to the semifinals of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships after his quarterfinal opponent Mikhail Youzhny of Russia withdrew from the tournament due to illness.

In Friday's semifinals, the world no. 2 will face the winner of the quarterfinal match between Roger Federer of Switzerland and Lukas Rosol of the Czech Republic.

Djokovic breezes into Dubai quarterfinals

DUBAI - Serbia's best tennis player Novak Djokovic advanced to the quarterfinals of the ATP tournament in Dubai late on Wednesday.

Djokovic notched up an easy 6-1, 6-3 win against world no. 51 Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain.

Next up for Djokovic is a match against Russia's Mikhail Youzhny, who defeated British number three James Ward earlier today by 6-1, 7-6 (7-3).
