Terrorism in Yemen

A suicide attacker drove a car laden with explosives at the Iranian ambassador’s residence in the Yemeni capital Sanaa Dec. 3, security officials said, killing as many as three people.

The Foreign Ministry has warned its citizens to leave Yemen and avoid travelling to the country, as the security situation in the country begins to deteriorate.

A statement by the ministry on Aug. 27 asked Turkish citizens to take the necessary security measures and stay away from clashes and large crowds.

US-bound travellers from Europe and the Middle East faced tighter airport security Thursday due to fears that Muslim extremists are developing new explosives that could be slipped onto planes undetected.
