The Greek National Theater is ending its run of "Tonight We Improvise," in which director Dimitris Mavrikios masterfully pairs Pirandello's "Leonora, addio!" with the music of Manos Hadjidakis in order to explore the relationship between imagination and reality and the power of the creation over the creator.

Billed as the "Greek Underground Revolution," the inaugural Urban Athens Festival promises fans of psychedelic rock and thrash metal a real treat from July 3 to 6. Twenty-four local acts are slated to perform at the Piraeus 117 Academy and Technopolis, both in the downtown Gazi district. The lineup includes the Acid Death, Septic Flesh, Nightstalker and many more.

Critically acclaimed Greek director Elena Karakouli presents "Himmelweg," a WWII drama by the award-winning contemporary Spanish dramatist Juan Mayorga, at the Athens Festival's Pireos 260 venue from Friday to Monday, June 7-10.

The Athens Festival has invited acclaimed Greek composer Eleni Karaindrou to present selections from her new album, "Tous des Oiseaux," at the Herod Atticus Theater on June 14.

The Greek National Theater pays tribute to Luigi Pirandello with a play about the staging of a play by the celebrated Italian dramatist, which examines the creative process. Directed by Dimitris Mavrikios, the production features music by the late Manos Hadjidakis, arranged by Nikos Kypourgos.
