Heartbreaking footage has been captured by the Up Stories team using a drone over Lake Yliki. Specifically, the team recorded images on Monday (28/10) of the lake and its island, which was once 120 meters from the shore and is now accessible by car.

Fire breaks out on Serifos
A fire broke out Tuesday on Serifos, near Vagia beach on the Cycladic island's southern coast, burning through low vegetation.
Emergency crews, assisted by a water-dropping aircraft, worked to contain the blaze, with additional reinforcements expected to arrive from Paros by boat.

Wildfires break out in Attica, Evia and Thebes
Wildfires broke out on Tuesday in Evia Island, in Attica, and in Thebes, Central Greece.
In the Paximada area of Karystos, Evia, a wildfire is burning low vegetation but is not currently threatening any settlements.
Some 38 firefighters with 14 vehicles have been dispatched to the scene, while four aircraft and one helicopter are providing aerial support.

Temperatures exceed 39 degrees in three areas of Greece
Temperatures on Tuesday exceeded 39 degrees Celsius in three areas of Greece, setting a new all time record for the first week of June, meteo.gr announced.
According to data from the National Observatory of Athens' network of automatic weather stations, in the Elefsina area of Attica and in the Thebes area (Nea Odos), in central Greece, the temperature reached 39.3 degrees Celsius.

Young Roma gets killed at police chase
A 17-year-old Roma boy was dead when transferred to the hospital of Thebes, central Greece after a police chase on Saturday night.
According to the information, the police were trying to do a car search of a suspicious car in the greater area of Aliarto in the Boeotia region.

The gate of Thebes
To visit the new Archaeological Museum of Thebes is to travel through time, space and myth. The journey is much longer and the experience much greater than the one-hour drive from Athens would suggest. This is not only because of the museum and its great exhibition ranging from Boeotia's prehistory right up to the establishment of the modern Greek state.
