Santa SUP event brings holiday cheer to Thessaloniki’s waterfront
Α vibrant holiday event transformed Thessaloniki's seafront into a festive spectacle on Sunday, as rowing athletes dressed as Santa Claus paddled through the waters, spreading seasonal cheer. Organized by the ThesSUP team, the event celebrated the growing sport of stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) while infusing it with Christmas spirit.

Body found in Thermaic Gulf
A body was found in the Thermaic Gulf in Thessaloniki, northern Greece, on Sunday. The corpse was discovered floating in the water near the Kalamaria marina, approximately 7 kilometers southeast of the city center.
Coast guard officers retrieved the body, and authorities are currently awaiting the results of a forensic examination.

Bringing some festive cheer to the northern city, over 30 people on SUPs took to the waters of the Thermaic Gulf on Saturday dressed in Santa outfits.

Loggerhead sea turtle found dead off Thessaloniki
A loggerhead sea turtle (Caretta caretta) was found dead by a member of the public in the Thermaic Gulf, off Thessaloniki on Tuesday afternoon.
The turtle was found near the local Yacht Club and the coast guard was notified, along with the municipality's environmental directorate, who pulled the turtle out of the water.
