Paraglider dies after crash near Thessaloniki
A 40-year-old man who was paragliding near Thessaloniki has died after crashing into a hill in an inaccessible area.
The incident occurred near the village of Vasilika, about 30 kilometers southeast of Thessaloniki.
Fifteen firefighters and members of the mountain search and rescue team found the body but attempts at resuscitation were unsuccessful.

Minors arrested after violent incident in Thessaloniki
Four minors were arrested in the northern port city of Thessaloniki following another violent incident.
On Friday night, outside a health store in the Thermi area, the minors, along with unknown accomplices, assaulted two individuals aged 17 and 19, causing them physical injuries.
The 19-year-old was transported by ambulance to a city hospital for precautionary treatment.

Self-styled ‘monk’ charged in Thessaloniki dog attacks
A 50-year-old man, who has declared he is a monk living in a cell on Mount Athos, was prosecuted on Monday for the felony of abusing animals following his arrest, after a complaint that he attacked stray dogs with a knife in Thermi, a suburb of Thessaloniki.
The defendant, a Serbian national, appeared before a judicial investigator in the northern port city.
Two arrested for football hooligan violence in Thessaloniki
Two of the parties involved in football violence that took place on Wednesday night in the area of Souroti near Thessaloniki have been arrested.
The two defendants, aged 17, were accused of violent crimes instigated by sports events, bodily harm, and attempted assault.
Fugitive horses cause chaos on Thessaloniki highway
Two horses caused traffic disruptions on Thursday after they began galloping on the highway connecting Moudania and Thessaloniki in northern Greece near the Thermi bridge.
The Thessaloniki Traffic Police responded immediately and arrived on the scene to regulate traffic while also ensuring the safety of drivers and that the horses were collected by their owner.
