Some 77 percent of Greeks get their news from social media, professor says

About 77 percent of the Greek public learn the news from social media, while there is a trend for most people to put emphasis on information originating from TikTok and Facebook, Alternate Professor of International Journalism at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Nikos Panagiotou, told a conference on Monday.

Canceled Thessaloniki trade fair will cost local economy an estimated €150 million

The cancellation of this year's Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), for the first time since WWII, is expected to result in a loss of up to €100 million, businessmen in northern Greece say.

Some say the total loss, including secondary benefits, could result in an earnings loss of €150 million for Greece's second largest city.

Beer Festival | Thessaloniki | August 29 – September 1

The third installment of the Thessaloniki Beer Festival kicks off at the Helexpo exhibition center in the northern port city, featuring 40 brewers and eight street food stalls, as well as live music. The concert program starts on Thursday with Pavlos Pavlidis and the B Movies band, followed on Friday by Max the Sax, on Saturday by Koza Mostra and on Sunday by Locomondo.
