Rainy Christmas brings chill as temperatures drop
Heavy rainfall is expected in coastal areas across Greece, with thunderstorms in Sporades, central and northern Evia, and the Dodecanese. These conditions will also briefly affect the southern parts of the eastern Aegean (Samos-Ikaria region) until midday. They will later shift to eastern Thessaly (Magnesia), eastern Central Greece, southern Evia and western Cyclades in the afternoon.

Wintry weather forecast for Christmas
Winter weather is forecast for Greece this Christmas and December 26 with heavy rain and snowfall in some parts of the country.
Snowfall is forecast for Christmas Day and December 26 across the mountainous regions of mainland Greece, as well as the mountains of Evia and Crete, and the semi-mountainous areas of central and northern Greece.

€9.5 mln contract signed to restore storm-hit Volos Port
A 9.5 million euro contract was signed Monday to restore Volos Port in Thessaly, which was heavily damaged by storms Daniel and Elias in September last year.
The project focuses on dredging and removing sediment to restore safe and efficient operations.

A 77-year-old man died and two others were taken to hospital as a precaution after a car accident in central Greece on Monday.
The collision, which involved two vehicles, occurred on the Larissa-Farsala road in Thessaly between the municipalities of Zappeio and Hara. It was unclear how the crash happened.
