Sixteen held over clashes in wake of November 17 march
Sixteen people were being questioned over on Saturday in connection with violent clashes between self-styled anarchists and police on Friday night following a march marking the anniversary of a student uprising against Greece's military dictatorship in 1973.

Taxpayers have paid dearly for 720-mln-euro 'social dividend'

Breaking with the past
Kyriakos Mitsotakis faced a dilemma before deciding to run for the leadership of opposition New Democracy. He could have avoided the race completely and founded a new center-right party shaped along modern lines, but he took the plunge instead. Damaging tolerance
The government is now suffering the adverse consequences of the protracted and unacceptable tolerance that it has displayed in response to the actions of far-left and anarchist groups.
Tuesday's raid at the Spanish Embassy on the capital's central Dionysiou Areopagitou Street by members of the Rouvikonas (Rubicon) anarchist group was anything but a bolt out of the blue.
