Clouds across most of the country on Monday with temperatures recording a slight increase. From midday, expect local clouds and even scattered showers and thunderstorms across much of the country.

The temperature will reach 33-34 degrees Celsius, slightly increased from Sunday. In island regions, it will reach 30 degrees. Winds will generally be 3-4 Beaufort.

On Monday, predominantly sunny weather is expected across Bulgaria. However, there will be temporary increases in cloud cover, particularly over the eastern half of the country. In some areas, especially in the mountainous and southeastern regions, isolated showers and thunderstorms may occur.

Bad weather continues for another day in Greece as according to the EMY forecast, today Sunday (1/9) localized heavy showers and thunderstorms in Sporades, Evia, Peloponnese, and Crete.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected today, Saturday, August 31, the third day of weather instability enhanced by the presence of a cold lake, the center of which is now located in the northeastern parts of our country.

Heavy rainfall affected several regions across Greece on Friday, in line with meteorologists' forecasts. The deluge was attributed to the so-called cold pool (CP) effect.

Severe weather instability is expected to continue across much of the country on Saturday, August 31st. The National Weather Service has updated the Special Weather Circular, initially issued on August 29th, 2024, at noon.

Atmospheric pressure will remain steady, close to the monthly average, with no significant changes expected.

Heavy rain and lightning have been affecting Attica in recent hours, causing major central roads to “flood.” Traffic congestion is making it difficult for drivers to move around.

Severe thunderstorms and local squalls are sweeping across much of Greece, impacting the Attica region since Friday afternoon.

Storms have moved from northern Attica into central Athens, with hail reported in parts of the capital and power outages in northern suburbs.

A second day of bad weather today and since noon showers and thunderstorms have made their appearance in Attica and Evia.
