Mild spring weather expected over Easter weekend

Balmy springtime weather is expected across much of Greece over the Easter holiday weekend, as temperatures will reach highs of up to 27 degrees Celsius in some inland areas, but will top out at around 20C near the sea. Winds will be moderate, except for some stronger gusts in the central and southeast Aegean.

Cloudy, Rainy Weather Expected in Bulgaria on Thursday

The weather will be cloudy and a heavy thunderstorms are expected today across Bulgaria on Thursday, 6 April, announced the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology with the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
Maximum air temperatures in the country are expected at between 14 and 19 degrees Celsius.

Sea water temperatures are expected at between 9 and 11 degrees Celsius.

New wave of bad weather for Greece

A new wave of cold weather is expected to strike Greece, especially on Friday. According to the weather forecast Thursday it will be cloudy with local rains and thunderstorms. The phenomenon will start from west and south as well as the eastern islands and it will gradually expand to the rest of the country.

Travelers tips for extreme weather conditions expected over the weekend

After an Indian summer with t-shirt weather during winter, the weather is due to change in Greece with extreme weather conditions expected around the country. After a brief thunderstorm on Wednesday followed by morning sunshine, it’s a turn back to winter again from Friday onwards, according to the National Meteorological Service of Greece.

Warning issued for torrential rain and thunderstorms in Greece

The National Meteorological Service (EMY) warned of heavy rain and thunderstorms in Greece which will last through Wednesday.

On Monday the weather will deteriorate throughout the country, starting with thunderstorms in the Ionian Sea on the west and moving east to the Cycladic Islands, Crete, and possibly northern and eastern Aegean islands.

Code Yellow Issued in Five Bulgarian Municipalities

Code yellow has been issued in five southern regions of Bulgaria on account of the imminent prolific rains and expected thunderstorms. 

The warning is valid for the municipalities of Smolyan, Kardzhali and Haskovo as stated by the National Institute for Meteorology and Hydrology. The amounts of rain expected there will be between 15 and 35 liters per square meter.
