The US Department of Justice is blocking a billions of dollars deal for the merger of Time Warner with the AT & T communications concern, Bloomberg reports.

The US government filed suit Nov. 20 to block AT&T’s merger with Time Warner, setting up the biggest antitrust court clash in decades over the $85 billion tieup.

AT&T on Oct. 22 announced a deal worth $108.7 billion for Time Warner that would create a powerhouse with control over a vast array of media and entertainment assets and the means to deliver them.
