Gunmen from Somali Islamist group Shabaab killed a regional lawmaker on April 18 after he had taken his wife to hospital in the capital Mogadishu, the group and officials said.
Shabaab kills nine in attack on ministry
Somalia's al-Qaeda-linked Shabaab militants April 14 blasted their way into the higher education ministry with a car bomb before storming the building, killing nine people.
Police and witnesses said the car bomb caused a huge explosion which allowed the gunmen to force their way into the fortified building.

Nine Killed as Al-Shabaab Militants Storm Ministry Building in Somalia
At least nine people were killed when suspected gunmen from Islamist militant group Al-Shabaab stormed the building of Somalia's Higher Education Ministry on Tuesday, triggering a shootout with security forces.
A spokesman for Al-Shabaab, which is linked to al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the attack in the centre of Somalia's capital, Mogadishu, the CNN reported.

According to aid workers and police, about 30 people were injured as five masked gunmen stormed the building of the university, the BBC reports.
