"Hadestown," the brooding musical about the underworld, had a heavenly night at the Tony Awards, winning eight trophies June 9, including best new musical and handing a rare win for a female director of a musical.

"Dear Evan Hansen," a musical about teen angst that focuses on a high school outsider, won the top prize at the Tony Awards, Broadway highest honors, on June 11 while J.T. Rogers' Mideast peace accord drama "Oslo" was named best play.

The young Turkish musical group 'Journey to Broadway' will present the Pulitzer and Tony award-winning 'Rent' musical in Istanbul. The musical will be on stage on April 11, 12 and 13 at the Ataşehir Mustafa Saffet Culture Center, the Kozyatağı Culture Center and the Caddebostan Culture Center respectively.

Helen Mirren won her first Tony on June 7 for her role as Queen Elizabeth II in ?The Audience,? while the lesbian-coming of age story ?Fun Home? and its lead actor, Michael Cerveris,  respectively earned best musical and best actor in a musical awards at the 69th Tony Awards.
