Britain urgently seeking to reset EU trade ties: Minister

Britain is urgently looking to reset its trading relationship with the European Union, and sees international commerce as key to reviving U.K. growth, Trade Minister Douglas Alexander has told AFP.

Alexander said Britain's 2016 vote to leave the EU caused "significant disruption" to its trade policy and the country needed to recalibrate its global trade outlook.

China takes Türkiye to WTO over electric vehicle tariffs

China has requested for consultations with Türkiye at the World Trade Organization (WTO) over additional tariffs Ankara imposed on imported electric vehicles and other vehicles from China.

"This discriminatory action is a violation of WTO rules and a typical protectionist practice," China's Commerce Ministry said in a statement.

Turkey, Azerbaijan should target free trade agreement: Minister

Turkey and Azerbaijan should aim for a free trade agreement, the Turkish trade minister said on April 1. 

The newly agreed preferential trade agreement, which into effect on March 1, only includes a limited number of products, and a free trade agreement is suitable for both countries, Ruhsar Pekcan said during her visit to Baku, the Azerbaijani capital.

Turkey, Azerbaijan to sign preferential trade agreement

Turkey and Azerbaijan will sign a preferential trade agreement in a strategic cooperation summit in the capital Baku on Feb. 24. 

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev will co-chair a High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting. Erdoğan is expected to visit Azerbaijan on Feb. 25.

Protest in Sofia against the Ratification of CETA

A protest against the ratification of CETA - the trade agreement between Canada and the European Union.

The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) is a free-trade agreement between Canada and the European Union. It has been provisionally applied, thus removing 98% of the preexisting tariffs between the two parts.
