Marvel action flick ?Ant-Man? kept its perch atop the US box office over the weekend, edging out retro videogame comedy ?Pixels? in North American ticket sales, industry data showed on July 27.

Starring Paul Rudd as superhero Scott Lang, ?Ant-Man? pulled in more than $24.9 million, less than half what it took in its opening last week.

A gunman opened fire at a movie theater in the US state of Louisiana late July 23, fatally shooting two people and wounding seven others before killing himself, police said.

The shooting comes as a jury deliberates the death penalty for the gunman in a 2012 theater massacre in Colorado that left 12 dead and 70 injured.
