Tram accident

At least 34 people were killed and dozens injured in two separate road accidents Saturday, each in places where collisions had taken place shortly before, local media reported.

There will be no trams running in Athens between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Wednesday due to a work stoppage decided by the tram drivers' union in order to hold a union meeting.

Early this morning, a tramway train failure caused a traffic jam on Graf Ignatiev Street. Around 8 am the tram lines 10, 12 and 18 interrupted their traffic towards the center of Sofia.

Due to the incident, the traffic on the tram lines 1, 6 and 7 was changed for a short while. The technical problem of the tramway was eliminated, the Sofia Municipality announced.
