The Facebook data row surrounding British analytics company Cambridge Analytica has made waves in Romania, after a consultant revealed that the company scouted him to secretly work for Romania's ruling Social Democratic Party in its triumphant 2016 election campaign.

LONDON — The head of Trump-affiliated data-mining firm Cambridge Analytica has been suspended, while government authorities are bearing down on both the firm and Facebook over allegations the firm stole data from 50 million Facebook users to manipulate elections.

Facebook  Chief Information Security Officer Alex Stamos is reportedly leaving after disagreements over how the social media network should handle the spread of disinformation. The news was first reported by The New York Times, and later independently reported by Reuters and the Wall Street Journal.

It's a sensational story containing allegations of sleaze, psychological manipulation and data misuse that has provoked an internationally furious response.

Most of the 65 CDs containing the data of 1.3 million taxpayers that the Hellenic Bank Association had supplied to the monitoring authorities are to be archived, following a decision by the Council of State, as the majority of cases are covered by the statute of limitations.

It can take as long as three months to complete a property transaction in Greece, particularly when it comes to countryside homes.
