British Tourist Nearly Dies after ‘Severing Artery’ Plummeting Down ‘Extreme’ Water Slide in Bulgaria

A BRITISH tourist has been left traumatized after saying her artery was severed after plummeting down a 72ft "extreme" water slide in Bulgaria.

Jade Graves, 29, claims she needed a transfusion after hemorrhaging blood from a freak injury on the "90-degree" drop ride.

Crown Custodian on Red Cross Day: Without blood you cannot save lives; we need donors

War, natural disasters, epidemics, poverty, migration are crisis situations, the same as the lack of blood, because you cannot save lives without blood, said the Custodian of the Romanian Crown, Margareta, the President of the Romanian Red Cross, who made an appeal to people to donate blood. Today Is the World Blood Donor Day

On the occasion of the World Blood Donor Day - June 14, the Bulgarian Red Cross and the National Center for Clinical and Transfusion Hematology (NCTH) will award the long-time voluntary and gratuitous blood donors with honorary plaques. They were nominated by a commission involving representatives of the two institutions, based on proposals from across the country.

Blood Donation Campaign Started in Sofia Hospital Pirogov

Another blood donation began in Pirogov on Monday. Among the first donors are Dr. Blagomir Zdravkov from Children's department and Dr. Antonius Tenev from Child Surgery.

Anyone who wants to follow the example of the two doctors can do it today and tomorrow, February 25 and 26, from 9:30 to 14:30.

Blood donations sought for Attica fire victims

Greek health authorities are calling for blood donations of blood and blood components to help burn victims from the deadly east Attica fire.

"In difficult times like these, we should all contribute as we can," the National Blood Center said in an announcement on Tuesday, stressing that supplies are currently short because of the summer holidays.

New blood donation points being set up to boost system

The National Center for Blood Donation (EKEA) is aiming to establish four blood donation points across the capital as well as seven mobile units over the coming months, Kathimerini understands.

One of the fixed points is to be located in Egaleo, western Athens, another in Kallithea and a third on central Stadiou Street. The location of the fourth fixed point has yet to be confirmed.
