Man dies after falling on ISAP train tracks
A man died on Friday morning after falling on the tracks at ISAP electric railway's Nea Ionia station in northern Athens, authorities said.
It was not clear why the man fell and an investigation is under way. No details about his identity have been released.
The incident temporarily disrupted service on the train.

Athens Airport voted top in marketing strategy
Global airlines have voted Athens International Airport (AIA) as the best this year for its marketing strategy and efforts in developing the Athens market, in the category of airports serving more than 20 million passengers.
During the annual meeting of the European aviation industry, Routes Europe 2024 (April 22-24) in Denmark, AIA once again secured the top position.

Athens Airport reports 20% rise in passengers in March
Passenger traffic at Athens International Airport (AIA) rose 20.1% in March 2024, compared to March 2023, with passengers reaching 2 million.
According to AIA statistics, both domestic and international passenger traffic exceeded 2023 levels by 12.6% and 23.5%, respectively.
Piraeus Line 3 metro station closed this weekend
The Piraeus Line 3 metro station (blue line) will be closed on Saturday and Sunday (April 6-7) to allow for the installation of new e-ticket equipment.
The station will reopen Monday.
The closure will not affect the operation of the Piraeus Line 1 metro station (green line).

Man, 27, hospitalized in critical condition after shooting at Athens bus station
A 27-year-old man has been hospitalized in critical condition after sustaining gunshot wounds late Thursday at the intercity bus (KTEL) central station on Kifissos Avenue in Athens.
Syntagma metro station to close during Independence Day parades
Syntagma metro station will be closed on Sunday, March 24, and Monday, March 25, from 8 a.m. until the parades marking Greece's Independence Day have been completed.
Transport operator STASY said trains will pass through Syntagma station without stopping.
ISAP station reopens after bomb threat closure
The Athens-Piraeus Electric Railway (ISAP) station in the southern Kallithea district was temporarily closed on Thursday due to a bomb threat. The station has resumed operations.
A bomb disposal unit has rushed to the scene.

Aegean adds fourth daily flight to London Heathrow
Aegean Airlines has secured another slot at London's Heathrow airport and is adding to its schedule a fourth daily flight from Athens to the UK's busiest international hub, it said on Tuesday.
The new flight will operate every day throughout the year except on Saturdays, leaving Athens at 4 p.m. local time and London/Heathrow at 7 p.m. local time.
