Traffic delays on Attiki Odos due to soil spill
Traffic on Attiki Odos, the main ring road of the Greek capital, is currently experiencing delays between the Penteli and Metamorfosi interchanges, heading westbound towards Elefsina.
According to the highway operator, earlier Friday there was a spill of soil from a truck near the Iraklio interchange. As a result, the left lanes remain closed while cleaning operations are underway.

Metro: Next extensions in Athens and benefitted areas
The Athens Metro is on track for a major upgrade, with plans underway for several exciting expansions and improvements to better connect the city. Among these, the most advanced project is the Line 2 extension to Ilion, adding about 4 km and three new stations: Palatiani, Ilion, and Agios Nikolaos.
Athens Metro extends service hours to 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays
Starting this Friday, Athens Metro Lines 2 and 3 will operate until 2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.
According to an announcement from STASY, the organization that manages the capital's metro system, the last trains will depart from the central Syntagma station at 2 a.m., providing service in all directions.
