Increased toll rates now in effect on major Greek motorways
The new, increased toll rates for both mainline and side toll stations take effect on Wednesday, January 1, for the Patras - Corinth - Elefsina and Antirrio - Ioannina motorways, as well as the Rio - Antirrio Bridge.
Under the increased rates announced by "Olympia Odos," a passenger car trip from Patras to Elefsina will now cost €13.30, up from €12.60.

Bridge collapse near Patra leaves one dead
A motorway bridge into Patra collapsed on Sunday leaving at least one dead, two people pinned under the rubble and seven injured, with at least one being seriously injured.
The bridge had structural problems in the past and was under repair since 2021. The Olympia Odos motorway had closed the road due to demolition works and there was no traffic on the bridge.

Traffic gridlock after car catches fire in Efpalinos tunnel
Long lines of traffic formed for several hours on Thursday morning, after a car caught fire inside the Efpalinos Tunnel in the direction leading to Corinth, forcing the tunnel's temporary closure.
A video filmed by a car driver moving in the opposite direction and posted on a local news website showed smoke coming out of the tunnel and fire engines deployed at the scene.
A Greek Fighter Jet has Crashed in the Ionian Sea, the Two Pilots are Missing
A two-seat fighter F-4 "Phantom" of the Greek Air Force crashed in the Ionian Sea during a training flight, the two pilots are missing, Kathimerini reported.
A statement from the General Staff of the Greek Air Force said the incident occurred at 10:30 a.m. 25 nautical miles (46 km) south of the Andravida air base in the northwestern Peloponnese.
Passenger capacity in public transport increased to 65 pct
The maximum passenger capacity on all public transport in Greece as well as intercity buses (KTEL) is increased to 65 percent from the current 50 percent, according to a joint ministerial decision issued on Tuesday.
The decision will remain in place until June 14.
