Poland's ruling Law and Justice party wants reparations, estimated at 1.3 trillion euros, from Germany for its occupation in 1939-1945. How realistic is that figure and its reparations plan?

Greek lawmakers on April 17voted through a resolution demanding the payment of German war crime reparations, an issue long disputed by Berlin.

German government spokesman Steffen Seibert reiterated on Wednesday Germany's position that the issue of war reparations to Greece has been settled "legally and politically."

"The reparations issue was legally and politically settled," he said at a news conference in Berlin, adding that "nothing has changed" in that position.

This is the first time that German media and especially one of the most prominent is in favor of German reparations repayment.

Der Spiegel, on its website main page, is clearly in favor of German war reparations, claiming that this is both morally and politically the right thing to do.

Steffen Seibert, the spokesman for German Chancellor Angela Merkel, stated today in a press conference that Germany will not pay Greece World War II reparations, following Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras' statements yesterday on the same issue.
