A 13-year-old boy who survived last year's deadly twin earthquakes in southern Türkiye, which claimed his father and one of his legs, did not let tragedy deter his ambitions and excelled in a versatile sports discipline just one year later.

A heartbreaking incident occurred at the World Triathlon Championship in Torremolinos, southern Spain, where two participants lost their lives during the event.

Tomorrow’s races will be held “provided that the subsequent tests—conducted on Tuesday morning—meet the swimming capability standards set by the World Triathlon,” clarified a joint statement from “Paris 2024” and the International Triathlon Union.

Rainfall on Friday and Saturday in Paris contaminated the Seine’s waters in the following hours, forcing organizers to cancel the triathlon training scheduled for this morning in the famous river, but they remain “confident” that the events will proceed as planned on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Koper – Almost 900 competitors from 42 countries will be on the starting line on Sunday for I Feel Slovenia Ironman 70.3 Slovenian Istria, the country’s largest triathlon event.

Koper – Slovenia will host the third Half Ironman race on 19 September, the Ironman 70.3 Slovenian Istria. The organisers expect about 1,200 competitors from 50 countries. The race was called off last year due to coronavirus, this year they expect to go ahead with a number of measures to protect the health of the racers.

The long-distance triathlon race, taking place on 23 September and organised by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC), will consist of a 1.9 km swim, a 90 km bike ride and a 21.1 km run.

The Tokyo Gulf water, in which some competitions have to happen at the Olympic Games in 2020, is too dirty and does not meet the standards of international federations. A water survey in the Odaya area has shown that at least for the time being there will not be any competitions.
