Renowned jazz saxophonist Jan Garbarek returns to the Sani Festival (sani-resort.com) with his band and Indian percussionist Trilok Gurtu. The Norwegian virtuoso continues to explore new sounds and the musical traditions of his own country, the Middle East and beyond in his quest for a "common language," as he describes it, to "suit the tone, texture and feeling of each different music."

Sani Festival (sani-resort.com/festivals), held every summer in Halkidiki, northern Greece, from July to August, celebrates the cultural connections between Greek and international artists, transcending its jazz roots since its inception in 1992. Having evolved into a diverse musical event, the festival now encompasses genres ranging from pop and rock to classical and indie.

Six young musicians, highly-acclaimed young singers, staged an opera gala on Sunday evening at the European Music Open Festival, the Regina Maria Theatre House in Oradea, accompanied by the Oradea State Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir under the baton of conductor Ciprian Teodorascu.

The German Krautrock Legends Embryo will perform in Plovdiv at the Bee Bop Café on Thursday, April 5th.

Istanbul is set to become home to a brand new jazz festival at Zorlu PSM to bring the genre at the forefront of the arts and culture scene of the city, looking at it from a broad perspective while adopting the polyphony of it.
