The ancient city of Troy last year attracted over half a million visitors - the most visitors in a decade - officials have said.

A Turkish documentary on the riches from the fabled ancient city of Troy premiered in Istanbul on Nov. 23, near the conclusion of 2018, the Year of Troy in Turkey.

With the launch of 2018 as the "Year of Troy" in honor of the 20th anniversary since the inclusion of the ancient city of Troy on UNESCO's World Heritage List in the European Year of Cultural Heritage, events are being organized to promote Troy around the world. One of these promotional events will continue at the Frankfurt Book Fair, which takes place between Oct. 10 and Oct. 14.
