‘University fees should be in line with inflation rates’
Türkiye's Higher Education Board (YÖK) head Erol Özvar has advised foundation universities to make inflation rates a top priority when determining fees.
Speaking to the press in Ankara, Özvar stated that they expect foundation universities to take into account the increase in rates in previous years.
More youngsters opting for private college route
Some 100,000 students in Greece choose private colleges over public universities after graduating from high school, with the Hellenic Colleges Association (HCA) reporting a 10% rise in admissions in the 2022-2023 academic year.

University tuitions skyrocket, students in dire straits
Students who have had difficulty in paying the increased tuition fees at private universities now have been surprised by the new exorbitant increases announced for next academic year.
The increases in tuition fees of private universities exceeding 200 percent have been drawing the reaction of students since the beginning of the 2022-2023 academic year.

The average amount of the tuition fee in public universities for the academic year 2023/2024 will be BGN 1,050, and the application fee will be BGN 50, decided the caretaker government.

Greeks studying in UK will need visas
The United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union has created a new environment for EU, and by extension Greek, students at the country's universities.
Indicatively, a visa will be required for the next academic year, while tuition fees will be determined by each individual academic institution. These fees will differ according to the field and level of studies.

Private university tuition fees increased 20 percent
The tuition fees for universities run by private foundations increased 20 percent annually, a handbook released by the public authority in charge of university placements has revealed.

The government will vote on the amount of application and study fees at state universities for the next academic year.
17 universities will probably maintain their current fees. Among them are the medical universities in Sofia and Varna, NATFIZ, the National Sports Academy, UNWE.

Education initiative at public schools
An Education Ministry initiative to provide extra tuition to secondary students at Greek public schools so that they do not have to rely on private institutions is expected to start on Wednesday.
This academic year, the ministry will provide 19 additional tuition centers, up from last year's 421.
The courses will be available until May 31, when classes end.
