Russia is developing its most technically advanced combat aircraft to date, intended to replace the Tu-22M, Tu-95, and Tu-160. Despite grand plans, the project appears to be a costly endeavor with billions potentially being wasted, according to UNIAN.

Ukraine's military announced the destruction of a Russian Tu-22 strategic bomber, allegedly involved in nighttime airstrikes targeting Ukrainian cities.

Ukraine's military raised air alerts nationwide on Tuesday, warning there was a threat of missile strikes from Russian bombers.

"Missile danger in areas where the air alert is on! Threat of launching cruise missiles from Tu-95MS aircraft. A total of 16 Tu-95MS strategic bombers are in the air," the air force said on Telegram.

This was announced by the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD).
"Two US Air Force F-16 planes escorted Russian planes that were flying in international airspace and did not enter US or Canadian airspace," the statement said.

The UN has formed a team for the evacuation of civilians from Mariupol, said the deputy official representative of the UN Secretary General, Farhan Haq. As he stated, the conditions for evacuation from "Azovstal" have not been provided yet.
The fiercest battles are being fought in Mariupol around the "Azovstal" ironworks. The UN is preparing to evacuate civilians from the ironworks.

Russia sent two nuclear-capable strategic bombers on a training mission over Belarus for a second straight day on Nov. 11 in a strong show of Moscow's support for its ally amid a dispute over migration at the Polish border.

Long-range bombers Tu-22M3 and the Collina submarine have been dragging a three-day missile-aviation strike on Islamic State Infrastructure and Fighters around the Abu Kemal population base in Eastern Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said.
