Antalya hotel illegally constructed despite demolition decree

The construction of a five-story hotel in the Mediterranean province of Antalya has been completed in an area where only two-story buildings were permitted, despite a municipality decree suggesting the demolition of the illegally-constructed three extra stories, daily Hürriyet has reported.

82 migrants captured in Bodrum, as weather conditions worsen

Some 82 migrants in four inflatable boats, in attempt to illegally reach the Greek island of Kos, have been captured by Coast Guard teams on Nov. 8.

The weather conditions and current, along with the high number of boat passengers, have raised risks during the journeys. Despite the risks, some boats and their passengers have survived the journey.

Four arrested in bootleg alcohol raid in Antalya

Four people were arrested by a local court in Turkey's southern province of Antalya on Nov. 8 for ties to the production and sale of bootleg alcohol.

An Antalya court ruled the arrest of four suspects, identified only with their initials M.A, ?.Ç, ?.Y. and M.M., who were among six suspects detained in the city after 560 bottles of bootleg alcohol were seized in an operation.

TAV takes over the operation of Milas-Bodrum Airport

TAV Airports has said it will now operate the international terminal of Milas-Bodrum Airport, a major tourism destination in Turkey, in addition to its domestic terminal in a press release on Oct. 22. 

As winner of the tender held last year for a bid amount of 717 million euros plus value-added taxes, TAV will operate Milas-Bodrum Airport until 2035.
